This is a belated posting ... but there goes: I spent another four hours
birding Rattray Marsh from top to bottom yesterday afternoon: highlights: 4
Winter Wrens (all scattered in dense dogwoods and some even in the cattails
adjacent to the board walk along the ne side of the marsh from observation
lookout at the lower marsh closed to the lakeshore to the lookout on the
'peninsula' which just from nw into the lower marsh); 150 American Robins; 3
Red-necked Grebes and 90 Cedar Waxwings.

Access the center of Rattray Marsh by parking at the bottom of Bexhill (ie.
south end) which runs south off Lakeshore midway between Erin Mills Parkway
and Mississauga Road; the trail leads directly to 'overlook' on the
'peninsula' and other boardwalk is located at bottom of the hill which leads
into the marsh.

For the nonce it appears that GOLDIE is making his appearances along the
north pathway, possible near its platform OR near the roadway, depending
upon wind /preference to be with the White-throated /-------. Indeed, today
he appeared in the early a.m. near the roadway, but from 10a.m. onward he
came out, sometimes for 3-4 minutes, near the platform every 20-40 minutes.
A bird not seen for a while has been a FOX SPARROW. Also along the north
path--Song Sp., Swamp Sp., Tree Sp., White-throated Sp., Juncos and House
Finches. Overhead-- 1 SNOW BUNTING, wonderful views of Rough-legged and
Red-tailed Hawks.
Across on the eastern pond was 1 SNOW GOOSE.

In Lynde Shores C.A. woodlot-- Red-bellied Woodpecker--seen and heard at
various locales.

>From the west exit 401 at Salem Rd.(in Ajax), south to Bayly, east through
LakeRidge to the first street (Hall's Rd.), south to the FIRST roadside
parking area. From the east, exit 401 at Brock St., Whitby, south to
Victoria, west to hall's Rd.

Lynde is 0.5 km. to the east of Hall's Rd.
