The many winter listers will be happy to learn that the Niagara Falls Selasphorus hummingbird spent the whole day today, November 30th, feeding in the Haines backyard feeders.

I finally saw it myself today, and it was alert and actively (successfully) flycatching. It will probably be out of luck once the snow and deeper cold finally arrives, but for now seems well. Today it was right along the edge of the parking lot; if not there, chances are it is along the edge of one of the two small fields east of there, in the Secteur des Champs. Other birds in the area were few, but a Northern Goshawk (imm) flew over at one point. DIRECTIONS: Allow 45-60 minutes from the Ontario/Quebec border on either Hwy 401/20 or 417/40. Continue east on Hwy 40 to the Henri-Bourassa exit (the one after Sources), follow the signs for Henri-Bourassa, then once you are on it, look for the signs to Bois-de-Liesse - you will need to turn left at the first or second intersection, Rue Douglas. Follow this to its end; there is a pay ($5 - coins or Visa) parking lot there; some people have been parking outside and walking in, but I've heard different versions of whether that is permitted or not. Good birding, Marcel Gahbauer Montreal QC [EMAIL PROTECTED]
