A Great Gray Owl was seen directly behind the KM. 38 sign late this afternoon. It was gradually working its way west along the treeline.

I was so pleased that a couple, en route to Massachusetts from Michigan, chose the Ontario route, specifically to see "GOLDIE"--does anyone have a better name? All birders, and certainly the CMRW observers, are indebted to CLOCA, for permitting viewing from the platform, protected by a rubberized wall. Indeed, several folk, among the 1800 or more visitors, have expressed wishes to say thanks to any CLOCA staff who may come down. Exit 401 at Salem from the west, or Brock Rd., Whitby, from the east; south to Bayly/Victoria, then east / west to Hall's Rd., south to the second roadside parking area. Doug Lockrey, Whitby, ON
