Greetings Ontbirds people, At ~ 11:15 today (Nov. 21), and adult ROSS'S GOOSE was discovered by Tom Hanrahan, Mark Gawn and Marc Bosc (also seen by us & Mike Tate) with a flock of approx. 130 Snow Geese at a pond near Reid's Mills south of Ottawa. From Hwy 416, take exit 57 to Bankfield Rd., go south and then east through Manotick. Cross the Rideau River along the main east-west drag (Mitch Owens Rd.) and look for Stagecoach Rd. on your right. Right (south) on Stagecoach and proceed through Osgoode to Reid's Mills, where Stagecoach becomes Regional Rd. #1. There is a pond in a farm field on the east side between farms #1215 and #1255. The goose was still present at ~12:30.
Incidentally (and most conveniently!) this location is just a short distance north of Hallville, which is where a TUFTED TITMOUSE was reported yesterday. The Titmouse was NOT seen this morning, but may still be in the area. Directions from the Ross's Goose location are: Continue south on the #1 then turn left on Kerrs Ridge Rd., then left on St. John, then immediately right on Christina Crescent. The address is 1676 Christina Cr. Please stay on the east side of the property near the pines, and do not approach the feeders. If you are coming from the south, you can also find these locations (in the reverse order), by taking Hwy 416 to exit 34 (Kemptville), then Hwy 43 east to Kerrs Ridge Rd., and proceed as described above. Good birds to all! Chris Lewis & Bob Bracken Ottawa [EMAIL PROTECTED]
