Observation start time: 10:00:00
Observation end time: 16:00:00
Total observation time: 6 hours

Official Counter: Calvin Brennan

Observers: Lathe Claflin

Weather:
The start of today’s count was delayed by early morning drizzle and sleet.
The rest of the day saw overcast skies with moderate north-northwest winds
in the morning becoming moderate to strong north-northeast winds in the
afternoon.

Observations:
Birds began moving in late morning when the lower, heavier cloud cover
dispersed and the skies brightened somewhat. The flight remained steady
throughout the remainder of the day, perhaps somewhat surprising given the
chilly overcast conditions.

A tremendous number of Tundra Swans were seen migrating into the area as
well today, many putting down in the mouth of the river at Point Mouillee.
Two or three Trumpeter Swans were also noted along with a first winter
Lesser Black-backed Gull.
