Hi Ontbirders

This morning, just before the front arrived (1130), Bruce Di Labio,
Diane Whitman and I birded the beach and Owen Pt. area. The best bird
was a Purple Sandpiper that flew in with several White-rumps, circled
the east end of Gull Island then flew out to Sebastopol Pt. and landed
there.

Other birds of interest included:

1 Red-throated Loon - flying south-east past Owen Pt.
7 ad. Tundra Swan
550 Gw Teal - high number - part of a big group of geese and puddle
ducks off Beach 2-4
18 Black Scoter
2 Rough-legged Hawk - one of each morph on Gull Is.
2 Black-b Plover
52 Dunlin
9 White-rumped S/p
42 Horned Lark - several flocks all passing SE
76 Snow Buntings

Cheers,

Doug McRae
