Moderate southwest winds in the morning increased to very strong in the afternoon with gusts approaching 40 mph (70 kmh). Observations: There was some movement of raptors once the skies brightened but most birds gave it up once the winds picked up in the afternoon. Even the TVs, who were doing their best tacking back and forth in the strong winds, stopped flying by mid afternoon. Highlighting the day were two Northern Goshawks, one of which was an adult, the second of this age seen at the watch this season. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Calvin Brennan ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) SMRR- Lake Erie Metropark information may be found at: http://www.smrr.net/
