The Rough-leggeds were circling in the fields before electing to move on westward at the Cranberry Marsh Raptor Watch throughout the morn of Oct.28. The NE winds and a TUV=3 perhaps triggered 40 Turkey Vultures, 21 Rough-leggeds, 14 Red-taileds, 2 N.Harriers and 7 Accipiters (2 each of Sharp-shinned & Cooper's and 3 N.GOSHAWK)
I THANK THE MANY OBSERVERS WHO HAVE ENLIVENED THE WATCH THROUGHOUT THE FALL to date, and look forward to a great November. In a roadside tree 7 E.Bluebirds were located at 11am. We still have several Fox Sparrows among the passerines seen regularly from our platform. Exit 401 at Salem, south to Bayly, east through LakeRidge to the first street (Hall's Rd.), south to the second roadside parking area. Doug Lockrey, CMRW coordinator
