Hi All - I'm posting this message for Dean Ware

Dean and his uncle, Dennis Dresser were walking the main trail at Hillman
Marsh this afternoon and encountered a dark, first winter ibis, likely the
one that was reported yesterday. Dean's uncle was ahead of him on the
trail, with the binoculars, when the ibis landed right beside him - Dean
asked him what colour the eye was - and he responded that is was an amber
colour, starting to turn red, suggesting a white-faced ibis.

The bird was found at Hillman Marsh along the main trail, in the area where
they are baiting for ducks with corn. Dean also had a Nelson's
Sharp-tailed Sparrow, Least Bittern and Hudsonian Godwit, all in the same
spot while watching the ibis.

Hillman Marsh is located on Mersea Road 2, just 5 km north of Point Pelee
National Park.

Good birding!
Sarah
