Official Counter: Olga Klekner
Observers: Adam Hall, Barbara Hudgell, Deb Hanauer, Ian Woodfield,
John Dilkson
Visitors:
This was Olga's first day as the official counter. She enjoyed the company
of birders from Windsor, Leamington, McGregor, Owen Sound, and Ottawa.
U.S. visitors were from Louisville, KY; Sacramento, CA; and Fort Wayne,
IN.
Weather:
Sunny to partly cloudy. Moderate to gusty winds mostly out of the NW. No
precipitation.
Observations:
Slow but good TV activity throughout the day. The first Rough-legged hawk
of the season created great excitement. Kestrels were mostly along the
shore. Some Red-tails were right over the tower to allow visitors good
views of field marks.
Multi-layers of migrating Blue Jays were noted in the early morning with
32,840 were counted for the day. Goldfinches 1,150.
Predictions:
Weather continues to be cool and partly sunny and dry.
