Observation start time: 07:00:00
Observation end time: 16:00:00
Total observation time: 8.5 hours

Official Counter: Bob Hall-Brooks, Bob Pettit

Observers: Bob Pettit, Dan Lumm, Jim McCoy, Olga Klekner

Visitors:
Many from eastern and northern Ontario. Indiana, Ohio, northern Michigan.
The season's Festival of the Hawks was a success. Thanks to the volunteers
who did a great job with the banding of song birds, raptors, and Monarchs.
Thanks to the food preparers. Thanks to the visitors who make it a fun
time. See some of you again this year in Oct. and Nov. and the rest next
year. Keep looking up!

Weather:
17.5-21.8 C, wind NW 4-8 mph, 50%-100% clouds,

Observations:
Birds were at all heights. Some specks others skimming the water over the
marsh. One would expect more birds and an more even/constant flow of
birds. But the conditions at the site (NW winds) might not be the same to
the NE and E where the birds are coming from. Perhaps Sunday will have a
more usual flight for the forecasted North winds and a more N-NW winds to
the northeast and east.

A few Monarchs. Most common non-raptor were Starlings (2,000) and Am
Goldfinches (300+) and Blue Jays (11,740)

Predictions:
Scattered Clouds. High: 77° F / 25° C Wind NNW 6 mph / 10 km/h
Remember that the temperature at the Tower will be perhaps 10 degrees
cooler.
