The mild southerlies spelled few migrating raptors at Cranberry in southwest Whitby on Saturday, Sep.11-- indeed, over 4 hours CMRW counted only 10 raptors-- 2 Osprey, 5 Sharp-shinneds, 1 Cooper's, 1 Kestrel and 1 Unidentified.
Meanwhile up on the Old Lake Iroquois Shoreline, 10km. to the north in the east end of Heber Down C.A., by noonhour the Broad-winged Hawks were moving through. Indeed, after 4 hours of counting there the 3 regular weekend counters had picked up over 70 Broad-wingeds. Doug Lockrey, coordinator CMRW
