Hi All, Three of us did a popcorn pelagic on Lake Dore in late afternoon today. A juvenile SABINE'S GULL was closer to Point Church Rd. on the east side, while an adult LITTLE GULL was seen between the middle and Biederman Park on the west side. With the black underwings, the Little Gull can be seen from a distance.
To reach Lake Dore, go north of Eganville (in Renfrew County) on Hwy 41 for 5 km., then left on Point Church Rd and go 4 km to the best viewing location at 831 Point Church Rd. (the brick house with the riparian clear-cut). Biederman Park is directly across the lake. Go north on Hwy 41, then left on Lake Dore Rd. to the Dore View Estates subdivision, left to the boat launch in Biederman Park. Good luck and wear you binoculars at all times.
