A Western Sandpiper was found at Owen Point at Presqu'ile this afternoon by Brenda Carter and Gerard Phillips. A pair of Whimbrel were also seen on the beach today by various observers. I saw the Western, a generously proportioned individual, at Owen Point at twilight - it is a different bird than the one seen last weekend. Though numbers are down, shorebirding is still good at Presqu'ile with 13 - 15 species possible. Directions to Presqu'ile are well-signed south of Brighton. Don Shanahan Brighton [EMAIL PROTECTED]
