Hi Everyone

I made a quick stop at Sobey's Pond in Whitby this afternoon (Sun, Aug 29) about 3:30. Present were 3 BAIRD'S SANDPIPERS, 5 LEAST SANDPIPERS, 2 YELLOWLEGS sp and 1 juvenile RED KNOT. I left and returned about 30 minutes later with Mary Schuster and we relocated the Bairds in the smaller pond further west, but could not relocate the Red Knot.

Directions:

'Sobey's Pond' is a flooded area south of the Sobey's warehouse in Whitby. Exit the 401 at Brock Street and go south to Victoria Street and turn right. At the first lights turn right (sorry I don't know the name of the road), then turn left at the first road (Nordeagle). The Sobey's warehouse will now be on your right side and the fields on your left.

Good Birding
Carol
