If you are wondering if the north winds brought in any migrants last night, the answer is yes, at least as far as the Bartley Smith Greenway is concerned. Some of the 40 species seen this morning were: Warblers: Ovenbird, Blackburnian, Black-throated Blue, Black-throated Green, Wilson's, Black and White, Yellow, American Redstart, Magnolia, Chestnut-sided, Nashville.
Rose-breasted Grosbeak, Indigo Bunting, Great-crested Flycatcher, (and many Empidonax), Baltimore Oriole, Red-eyed Vireo Cedar Waxwing, Ruby-throated Hummingbird. The Bartley Smith Greenway currently runs from Steeles Avenue (the northern boundary of Toronto) to Langstaff Road, on the west side of Dufferin Street. All of the above birds were seen between the section from Glen Shields Avenue, two lights north of Steeles, to the highway 407 bridge. Ian Cannell Concord, Ontario.
