Hello Ontbirds people,

Yesterday evening (July 6), an adult Franklin's Gull was reported by Jean
(John) Dubois and Donald Dallaire, hawking for insects over the Des Chenes
rapids of the Ottawa river and then heading west. It was observed from the
Quebec side of the river, at the end of Vanier St.

DIRECTIONS:
>From downtown Ottawa, take the western parkway to Island Park Dr. Turn right
(north) onto the Champlain Bridge and cross over into Quebec. Take the 1st
left at the traffic lights and go west to Vanier St. Turn left (south) at
the lights and follow the street to the very end where there is an excellent
view of the rapids. The rapids may also be observed on the Ontario side,
from the Britannia Yacht Club at the end of Cassels St. or from the shore
behind the Britannia Water purification plant.
