Good Morning!

Last night saw the end of our 2004 Falcon Watch. We have have had a
resounding success with our chicklets. Senator and Zanar are proving to be
superb flyers and are now participating in lessons provided by their
parents. We have already seen some while still doing the Watch.

For the first time, my daily summaries were published in the Ottawa Citizen,
to the delight of the public, not to mention ourselves!

Senator had to be rescued only once and, although slow to "restart" her
flights, had shown great recovery skills and flying abilities. She was the
more vocal of the pair...... Zanar never needed rescuing and showed from
the very moment she left the nest ledge that she was delighted with the
freedom and fun her wings gave her!

It would seem that installing tiny Canadian flags over much of the CD Howe
Building gave our chicklets good luck!

I will be putting a Final Report together over the next few weeks and it
will be posted on the Ottawa Field Naturalists Club web site and that of the
Canadian Peregrine Foundation.

Cheers, Eve
