The four young Peregrine Falcons at Hamilton's Sheraton Hotel have grown into almost full juvenile plumage and will take their first flights in the next few days. ONTBIRDers who have not yet had a good look at Peregrines on the wing can get close-up views, especially in the early morning and evening hours, for at least the next week.
This Wednesday, June 23, the Hamilton Naturalists' Club Wednesday Night Walk will feature the Peregrines. The walk begins at 6:30PM. Everyone is welcome. Directions: The Sheraton Hamilton is at 116 King Street West, between James and Bay Streets, opposite Hamilton Place and the Hamilton Convention Centre. The HNC Wednesday Night Walk will start across King in the parking lot of the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board at the corner of Bay. >From Highway 403 take the Main Street East(bound) exit and follow Main approx. 2km downtown to Bay Street, then turn left.
