Dear Ontbirders:

The number of excellent birders in the field today has increased to the
point that a great many Ontario Bird Records Committee (OBRC) Review List
birds are being found all over the province. Seeking documentation of these
occurrences has placed a severe burden on the already very busy OBRC
Secretary, Bill Crins.

Consequently, we have asked Kayo Roy to return to help the Committee in the
capacity of Assistant to the Secretary. His primary function will be to
contact observers with a request that they submit a detailed report of
their rare bird sighting, and to seek complete information concerning the
dates of occurrence of these birds.

On a regular basis, Kayo will be monitoring various reports of rarities from
across Ontario, and contacting those who have discovered or observed them.
He will also post requests for documentation and occurrence dates of
particular species on Ontbirds. The OBRC appreciates the assistance of
observers through the provision of documentation on their sightings, and
looks forward to the continued and expanded participation of Ontario's
birders in this process.

We are pleased that Kayo has accepted this position, and we are confident
that OBRC's efforts to document and preserve Ontario's ornithological
records will be greatly improved and enhanced through his work.

Good birding.
