One pair of Red-necked Grebes is once again nesting in the Bronte Outer
Harbour Marina in the same spot as last year. The nest has five eggs as of
this morning. Hatching could occur any time now. The floating tire upon
which the nest sits is essentially invisible under all the vegetation the
birds have piled on so photographers will be happy.

This is the 8th consecutive year that Red-necked Grebes have nested here.

I was hoping for Whimbrel this morning but dipped.

Directions: Exit the QEW at Bronte Rd. and go to the lake. Where Bronte
Rd. ends turn left and look for a very large building on your right. Go
slightly beyond it and the nest is easy to see.
