Weather:
North wind early in the morning changing to southerly wind at noon.
Intensity of wind increased from 20 Km/h to 38 Km/h from 2pm to the end of
the count.
Overall day was overcast and blusterly with clearing starting from 2pm
with some sun.
Observations:
8 species of Raptors migrated through today with a total of 85 birds.
Other migrants included: 5 Great Blue Heron, 1 Tundra Swan, 2 Common Loon,
E. Towhee, Field Sparrow, E. Bluebird, Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Blue-gray
Gnatcatcher, Purple Martins, Tree Swallows, Barn Swallow, Chimney Swift,
Yellow-rumped Warbler, Palm Warbler, Blue-headed Vireo, White-throated
Sparrows and Green Darner Dragonfly.
Predictions:
7 Broad-winged Hawks battled high winds between 3pm and 4pm. Many more
Broad-wings will probably try to get through tomorrow if the thermals
cooperate.
