This morning there were 7 species of gulls at the Second Marsh. 22 Little, 1053 Bonaparte's, 25-30 Ring-billed, 4 Herring, 1 immature Great Black-backed, 1 immature Thayer's, and 1 immature Iceland Gull
Also present in the marsh 1 Common Tern 5 Caspian Terns 500 waterfowl of 16 species including 236 Green-winged Teal 1 Marsh Wren 5 species of Shorebirds including 1 Dunlin and 2 Spotted Sandpipers McLaughlin Bay Wildlife Reserve Trumpeter Swans R39 and 837 1 Northern Waterthrush 2 Northern Mockingbirds Several Yellow-rumped Warblers Directions: Exit from the 401 at the Harmony Rd. Exit (419) in Oshawa. Go south on Farewell St. to Colonel Sam Drive. Go east on Colonel Sam Drive to the parking lot at the GM Headquarters. Park in the west parking lot close to the marsh. The east platform is located here. To see the Lake Ontario waterbirds proceed along the path from the parking lot south to the lakeshore.
