Weather: Cold weather and early morning cloud with light winds today. Todays high only reached 9 degrees C. Observations: But the raptors came. Counters were very busy counting a total of 1506 birds including 1257 Broad-winged Hawks. Three Bald Eagles and a Golden Eagle were high points for todays observers. Several groups of Common Loons crossed the park today with groups size ranging from 1 to 6. A very accomodating Sandhill Crane made a slow pass and circled back to check us out. The Brown Thrasher was present along with the usual Cardinals and Blue Jays. One Blue Jay entertained us with a very good imitation of a hawk calling. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Bill Brown ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) Beamer Conservation Area, Grimsby, ON information may be found at: http://www.hwcn.org/link/niaghawk/index.html Beamer Conservation Area is located on top of the Niagara Escarpment above the town of Grimsby, Ontario.
