And the birds did not disappoint us. Special thanks to Alina Barnett who diligently, carefully and neatly helped counter Tom Reavely for much of the day. Thanks Alina. Weather: A beautiful sunny day with comfortable temperatures for the NPH Open House. Highs reached 10 degrees C under light winds and a steady barometer. Observations: And the visitors to the Open House were not disappointed. They were treated to a spectacular 921 birds including 161 Red-tailed Hawks and a massive 704 Turkey Vultures. Also, a live Red-tailed Hawk that had completed rehabilitiation at the University of Guelph was released back to the wild, much to the delight of the spectators. ID Workshops by Mike Street, Migration Talks by Bruce Duncan, a children's program by Carla Carlson were all exceptionally well attended. Displays by OFO and other Niagara based nature clubs and our friends from Quest Tours were well attended, and many thanks to the hotdog and coffee vendor. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Bill Brown ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) Beamer Conservation Area, Grimsby, ON information may be found at: http://www.hwcn.org/link/niaghawk/index.html Beamer Conservation Area is located on top of the Niagara Escarpment above the town of Grimsby, Ontario.
