Great blue Herons have just arrived at the Leitrim Wetland heronry as of today. Although these herons are common, I mention them as there is considerable housing development going on right near the wetlands and, in spite of many people trying to save that area, we might one day in the not-too-distant future lose these magnificent birds' nesting area.......
Also, for those who need to know, the 6 Short-eared Owls who have been spending the winter south of our airport, they were all in sight this evening around 6:30.
