Itinerary: The group met at the Boat House in Southampton at 8:30am. We
viewed Chantry Island in Southampton from Beach St parking lot. Then headed
south on Hwy 21 at Conc 2 of Saugeen - just south of Port Elgin, and east 2
roads to see the Snowy Owls. Back to Hwy 21, we continued south to
Kincardine. Turned right on Bruce Avenue, then left into the Kincardine
Dump. Continuing south on Hwy 21, we turned left on Huron Conc 2, then
followed the signs for the Point Clark lighthouse. The water was frozen.
The south again on 21, and right on Greenway Rd to see the Tundra Swans and
Northern Pintails behind the museum (which is on Hwy 21). Lunch at
McPherson's (south on Hwy 21 to Port Franks Rd). Finally heading north on
21 back to the Pinery Provincial Park, where we spent the afternoon viewing
Tufted Titmice, a Red-headed Woodpecker and many others. A great day was
had by all. Thank-you, Cindy.
