Ontbirders: An American Three-toed Woodpecker, the fourth here this winter, was reported near Post 8 on the Beaver Pond Trail (km 45.2 on Highway 60) today. A Black-backed Woodpecker was noted on some dead tamaracks along the highway just outside the East Boundary of the park, as well.
Directons Algonquin Park is about three hours north of Toronto, via Highways 400, 11 and 60. Sites along Highway 60 through the Park can be located by kilometre markers.
