On a drive yesterday (Feb. 24) from Tilbury to London via the 401 - 24 Red
Tailed Hawks a few of which were pairing up. Spring! 3 Rough Legged Hawks,
one male RW Blackbird on territory at kilometer 121.5 south side of the
highway. The immature goshawk that has been dining on feeder visitors in
Tilbury has not been seen this week. The Mourning Dove roost next door to
our house (31 Sunset Place) has been reduced from more than 50 in the fall
to less than 10. Male Cooper's has been frequenting downtown all winter and
is still present. Spectacular sight Monday as he pickup up a Starling
(going the right way with the green light) four feet above the road at the
main intersection of town.
