Hi All!

Today at Pelee we saw the Long Eared Owls on
Concession E (the first road north of the park gates).
We had 15 of them by road markers 1607 - 1611. Most
were roosting but some were flying around. Really an
incredible sight. We last saw them at 5pm and they
were far less active than they had been at noon. Also
in that immediate area were 2 Harriers, numerous Red
Tails and a couple of Kestrels.

Of note in the Park, an Eastern Towhee on the side of
the road to the tip in with a small flock of Robins
and Cedar Waxwings.

As well on the way home, around 6:15, we had a Short
Eared Owl on Concession 37, south of the 2nd
Concession, which marks the west side of the Hillman
Marsh Conservation Area. The owl was hunting in the
fields and sitting on the fence posts on the east side
of the road.

Earlier in the day we saw many small flocks of Snow
Buntings on the Talbot Trail between Blenheim and
Wheatley with one larger flock of approx. 500 birds
just east of Wheatley.

Good Birding
