The Townsend Solitaire that was reported last weekend has been seen a couple
of times this week. My Grandson and I went out this morning and found the
bird and had great looks at it. It is a very secretive bird and hides in the
dense pines at the roadside. A matter of fact we walked right past the bird
and then turned around to head back to tha car and it flushed from its spot
and flew across the road to the tall poplars.
To get to the bird coming from Port Elgin take Hwy #21 south to Tiverton and
travel down Bruce Rd #15 to Inverhuron and turn right onto Victoria St.. Go
to the end and turn left on to Caley St.. Park on the side of the road and
walk west towards the lake. The bird was on the north side just past
Hillcrest cottage and flew into the Poplars on the south side.
Coming from Kincardine travel north on Hwy #21 to Tiverton and turn left
onto Bruce Rd #15 and follow directions as above.
