On the afternoon of Feb. 8, along March Valley Road
<http://members.rogers.com/larry.neily/orwo24.htm> (formerly 4th Line),
west of Ottawa, my wife, Marianne, and I saw a flock of 10+ Bohemian
Waxwings, a Northern Shrike (both just east of Klondike Road) and a
Barred Owl (in the large willows west of Klondike).
Directions
From Highway 417 (The Queensway) take exit 138 (Eagleson/March
Roads). If travelling west, the 0.6 km offramp sends you right or
north onto March Road (Regional 49). If driving east, a 0.4 km
offramp brings you to Eagleson Road, where you will turn left or
north onto it and in 0.5 km join the westbound offramp traffic on
March Road (it changed names as you went under the overpass). Both
groups will now follow March Road north 4.1 km to Klondike Road.
Turn right or north onto Klondike and go 1.4 km to March Valley Road.
