At 11AM, Jan.25, I received a phone call --a Red-necked Grebe, in very poor
shape, was found by 2 birders in a roadside ditch at the south end of Hall's
Rd. in southwest Whitby. As I send this the bird is under a blanket in the
reporter's car. A rhetorical question-- has the c-c-c-cold weather and icy
waterfront prompted the possibly-imminent succumbing of this bird?!!
