Today, January 18th, Joanna Pease, Sue Wright, Robert Epstein and I saw at least two Bohemian Waxwings in a flock of 70 Cedar Waxwings at Pinery Provincial Park, Lambton Co. We initially heard and then saw the waxwings sitting in oaks in the campground area and then watched them fly over the Riverside Trail and disappear beyond the Au Sable River. This was at approximately 2:30 p.m. Other birds seen at the Pinery included a lone Common Redpoll at the feeders at the Visitor Center and a Fox Sparrow near the bird feeding areas of the Visitor Center. At Point Edward, we saw 8 Long-tailed Ducks in the ice choked channel leading out into Lake Huron.
