Monday,Jan.12--the snowfall was welcomed by a number of birders and many birds at the feeding station on Hall's Rd. in southwest Whitby. Among the many Tree Sparrows were 1 FIELD, 1 WHITE-CROWNED and 2 Song Sparrows, 15 Juncos, several Cardinals, House Finches, Goldfinches, Red-breasted and White-breasted Nuthatches, N.FLICKER, Hairy and Downy Woodpeckers. On a few occasions a number of C.REDPOLLS flew overhead. In the vicinity, and creating periodic quiet spells among the feeding birds, was a SHARP-SHINNED HAWK.
