Greeting folks it would seem our stint of -46 -54 with the wind chill that
caused schools to be cancelled brought the red crossbills out of the woods
and onto highway 11b looking for gravel and salt i suspect. This is only the
second time i have ever seen red crossbills in the area so i was quite
excited. I went out looking for some today and found none so it may be they
are back into the bush with the cold snap over. Highway 11b is the highway
that branches off of highway 11 and heads into cobalt should anyone be
heading to timmins and would like a quick side trek to look for these. Happy
birding
