Shortly after 1:00 p.m. today, we encountered a group of Black-capped
Chickadees, with one "weirdo" in the flock. It seemed to have a 2-note call,
faster & higher pitched than the regular chickadees. After listening to
several samples of CACH calls, we think maybe it was doing 4 syllables, but
so high-pitched that we didn't really notice 2 of the syllables.
We're going back to try and find it again. (It's 3:45 now.)
The birds were in Kerncliffe Park in Burlington. Take the QEW to
Burlington, exit onto Brant Street heading North. Turn left on the North
Service Road, right on Kern's Road. The park is off Kern's Rd., to the
right.
