Whilst prowling my local patch this morning I discovered my first Snowy Owl
of this winter on the carrot n onion fields of South Keswick, it was perched
on a hydro pole but flew off to alight in the flooded field on the north
side of Ravenshoe, I have seen Snowy Owls in this area for a number of years
although most years they put in an earlier appearance than this.
There was also a fine looking adult dark phase Rough Legged hawk in the same
area.

Directions from Toronto, take the 404 north to Green Lane,Approx 60 km,
drive west on Green Lane to Leslie St, north to Ravenshoe, west on Ravenshoe
to the farm fields.
