Whilst prowling my local patch this morning I discovered my first Snowy Owl of this winter on the carrot n onion fields of South Keswick, it was perched on a hydro pole but flew off to alight in the flooded field on the north side of Ravenshoe, I have seen Snowy Owls in this area for a number of years although most years they put in an earlier appearance than this. There was also a fine looking adult dark phase Rough Legged hawk in the same area.
