While walking the trails at the Burrlington (no typo) Outdoor Education Centre just northwest of Kleinburg and southeast of Bolton this afternoon, my wife and I stopped to investigate some fresh owl pellets in the evergreens about 100 metres north of the old red brick school house. Within moments of leaving the main trail, four Long-eared Owls flushed from the trees in front of us. There may have been more, but it was hard to be sure as they moved a few different times. We "followed" just long enough to get a decent look at a perched individual, then let them be.
