On December 28, 17 field observers and 5 feeder watchers tallied 11,995
individuals of 60 species (average 58) on the 22nd Ingersoll CBC. Two
species new for the count pushed the cumulative total to 108 species:
Barred Owl and Brown Thrasher. There were record high counts for four
species: Gadwall, Bald Eagle, Herring Gull and Red-breasted Nuthatch. A
record low count for Golden-crowned Kinglet was discouraging and the tally
for Song Sparrows was the 2nd lowest ever. One party almost had a 3 mimid
day. On count day he found N. Mockingbird and Brown Thrasher on/near his
property and had a Gray Catbird present up to a week before the count.
