Ontbirders A Purple Sandpiper was foraging on the gravel bar just off Owen Point from noon until at least 2:00pm today. The bird was visible by scope from Owen Point. Anyone considering a closer look should remember that water depth towards Gull Island is now hip boots-plus deep. Don Shanahan Brighton
