Hello Ontario Birders:
I found the Gray Flycatcher at 10:20 AM Sat. Dec 21.
It was located across the open water pond. Feeding in the leaf mulch and
sallying up to snags 4 to 5 feet off the ground ( staying mostly always low).
At least 50 other observers { a veritable mob} were able to see this bird in
good light with plenty of action. I was able to tape it on my video. It looks
very good for a Gray Flycatcher id ( even though there was no clinching calls
from it today). I left at 11:15 AM and the bird was in the "Hawthorne"
shrubbery above the pond.
To see it it is best to cross the 'dyke' across the pond ( on the east/left
of the main field) and look low in the deciduous leaf litter on the north side
of the pond.
It was at the same location on Saturday Dec 20 at 4:00 PM (( seen by two
capable members of my group))
Cheers... Luke Fazio
