My husband and I went out yesterday and actually did find the posted Gray Flycatcher.  It was a wonderful sighting experience.  There were at least 5 other birders there, 3 of those we were able to direct to the bird after we found it ourselves.  We discovered a pattern to the flycather's feeding area.  If you cross the field and follow the fence line up to the very top of the highest hill, you will see the metal gate across the fence.  At the top of the hill if you look just over the fence you will see the Flycatcher feeding on the ground.  He stays at a height of about 2-3 feet, drops down to the ground, picks up insects then returns to the bush.  He works the base of the tree shrubs and raspberries moving from left to right and then back again to the far left of the metal gate.  This pattern is repeated over and over.  If you go into the area on the other side of the fence you are not likely to see him.  We were lucky to have him land in a tree right in front of us and pose for inspection.
