We (and several other observers) had the Gray Flycatcher from approximately 9:00 am to 10:00 am this morning. The whole time we were there it was frequenting the area around the top of the hill to the west of the cattail pond area and away from the creek (where it was seen yesterday). At times the birds seemed to disappear, likely due to the fact that it was staying very low, often right on the ground. However, great views were had by everyone there during this time. As we were leaving a local warned us of a cow that has been loose in this area for the past few years and is apparently very "cranky".
Directions for Gray Flycatcher: Follow highway 3 west of Cayuga crossing the Grand River. Turn north (right) on River Road. Follow a few kilometers to Indiana Road W. Turn left (west, the only choice) onto Indiana Road W. Drive 1.9 km and pull off on the north side of the road. Walk across the field to the north (this is private property - it would be nice to contact the owner - I'm afraid we didn't) about 100 m. until you reach a line of trees. Cross carefully the barbed wire fence. Beyond the fence is the creek.
