Hi there,
I have had quite a few people email, or ask about the BT pigeon. I was over
to see it today where the bird is being rehabbed. Lately the bird has been
well, eating and doing pigeon things. However, it has been preening out
damaged feathers in its breast area around the area where it had lost
feathers in the accident. We knew some of the feathers were sort of just
hanging there, but as more came out, it created a larger bare patch, one
clearly visible by looking at the front of the bird. While anxious to get
the bird out into the wild again, it would not be wise to let it go with
such a patch exposed, as you could imagine. The good news is that some fuzzy
down feathers are starting to appear. I will continue to update, and let
people know when it is released.
