Today on the West Humber Naturalist Xmas Bird Count, we, (Bill Edmunds, Bob Noble and John Schmelefske), found a Baltimore Oriole (either female or young male) at the Professor's Lake Rec Centre. It was feeding on buckthorn berries with a large flock of European Starlings. There are many buckthorn trees in the area, so it will likely stay for a while.
The Professor's Lake Rec Centre is located in Bramalea on the north side of North Park Drive, between Bramalea Rd and Torbram Rd. The buckthorn (and hopefully the bird) is located just south of the south-east corner of the Rec Centre parking lot.
