Holiday Greetings,

I saw a mature SNOW GOOSE at the mouth of the Talbot River with a flock of
about 15 CANADA GEESE very close to the bridge. All of the geese were on
the thin ice feeding while a small house cat took a chance and tried to
round up some of them. Fortunately the geese were smarter than the cat. I
have several pictures of the SNGO and of the cat stalking the flock (email
me if you are interested in a copy).

A GREAT BLUE HERON flew over and kept heading south.

On a point that is a couple of hundred metres south west of the Talbot there
were about 15 LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULLS and a few HERRING GULLS.
There were dozens of COMMON GOLDENEYE and several common and red-breasted
MERGANSERS at the mouth of the Trent Canal which is less than a kilometre
north of the Talbot.

the lake at this point) and follow until you cross the small bridge (park in
the lane on the right).
