The pigeon was not seen until at 10.05 when it came out of cover chased by a
female sharp-tailed hawk. It outflew it but hit the siding of a house about
three down from its home-yard. Fortunately the home-owners were home, and
quickly wrapped it in a blanket, and brought it up to us . The bird was
alive . It lost a few breast feathers, but did not hit its head. We took it
in and put it in a quiet place awaiting recovery, or whatever, and anxiously
waited events. After 2 hours it seems to have recovered. It has stopped
panting, and the eyes look clear. If there is no internal injury we hope it
will be alright. Do not visit until you hear it is O.K. Pete will update if
and when he thinks it is safe to come.
