Winds were moderate to fairly strong out of the west-southwest. Observations: Most of the flight was from the count area northward. Particularly early in the day many of the birds were low over the boat launch including a spectacular view of an adult female light morph Rough-leg. The mix of birds was similar to yesterday but with the overall numbers a bit lower. A secondary site, the Headquarters of Pointe Mouillee State Game Area can be used during certain wind conditions. When staffing is available, both sites can be used at the same time. The season begins on the first day of September and concludes on the final day of November.
