Observation start time: 07:00:00
Observation end time: 16:00:00
Total observation time: 9 hours

Official Counter: Calvin Brennan

Observers: Paul Cypher, Raburn Howland, Terry Angevine

Weather:
Clear blue skies were the order of the day today, which always makes for
somewhat difficult conditions for detecting birds. Winds were light
northeast early in the day switching to east and then finally to southeast
later in the afternoon.

Observations:
The count began at the boat launch with a switch being made to Point
Mouillee in late morning, although there was a period in midday that both
sites were in operation simultaneously. Flight lines were primarily
between the two locations but moved more north or south with variations in
wind direction. Overall numbers continued to be very good if not as
spectacular as the preceding two days highlighted by some excellent views
of several Red-shouldered Hawks.

An interesting fly-by at Point Mouillee was a Long-billed Dowitcher
identified by its distinctive call note.
